-What is VBS?

VBS is a fun-filled week of Bible lessons, music, games, and activities designed to teach children about God in an engaging and interactive environment.

-Who will be leading and supervising VBS?

Our trained and background-checked volunteers, including church staff and experienced teachers, will lead VBS activities.  Safety is our top priority!

-When and where will VBS be held?

VBS will be June 8-12 from 9-12:15 at Central Baptist Church. Doors open daily at 8:50 a.m.

 

Register by June 5 to pick up your packet early at 8:30 a.m. the first day. Drop-off begins at 8:50 a.m. in the church foyer and all late registrations will be accepted at 8:50 a.m. 

 

Dismissal information will be emailed, please keep an eye on your inboxes as we draw nearer to the event. 

 

-Who can attend VBS?

Children entering kindergarten through children who just completed 5th grade. *All children attending VBS must be completely potty trained and able to use the restroom without assistance.*

 

-How much does it cost to attend?

VBS is FREE! If you’d like to buy a T-shirt, be sure to register early. The shirts cost $10 and must be pre-ordered by May 15.

 

-What should my child wear/bring?

Participants will be moving around the church throughout the day so please wear something comfortable.  Closed-toed shoes are encouraged.  All backpacks, purses, toys, etc. must remain at home.  All necessary supplies will be provided. *We will have a water day on Thursday; information will be sent home.

 

-Will snacks be provided?

A schedule for snacks will be emailed a week before VBS starts.  Any child with food allergies or restrictions will have to bring their snack, which does not have to be refrigerated, each day of VBS.  Only water will be allowed in the building.

-What if my child has special needs?

We will do whatever we can to reasonably accommodate your child.  Don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss this further.

 

-Who can pick up my child?

The registered adult and anyone whom the registered adult has authorized.

 

-What if I need to pick up my child early?

Come to the front of the church.  We will bring your child out to you once early arrangements have been made.

 

-What if I have an emergency?

You can call the church office at (575)762-4727 to let us know what is going on.

 

-Can my child stay with their friends/siblings?

Our crews are divided by grade levels for age-appropriate Bible lessons. While we do not accommodate requests to be with friends or siblings, kids will have opportunities to see one another in large group settings.

 

-Can I stay with my child during VBS?

Parents are asked to leave after drop off and return for pick up.  If you are interested in staying you are welcome to volunteer with the elementary VBS group.

 

We would like to invite all participants and their families to join us on Sunday, June 14, for a special VBS recital.

 

-Who can volunteer?

Adults and youth who have completed 6th grade and up! Volunteers will get a free t-shirt if they register before May 16th. Background checks must be submitted for anyone 18 and over.

-Is there childcare for volunteers?

For volunteers of elementary VBS, we provide a pre-school VBS for children under 5 years old. Please contact our Central Childrens Ministry staff for more information on volunteer opportunities.
